Frequently asked questions

Can I use File Transcribe without an account?

Yes. Upload from the homepage, no signup required. Guest files are automatically deleted after 24 hours.

Do I need a credit card for the free account?

No. Create a free account with Google or email at no cost.

What's the difference between Pro and Plus?

Pro ($19/mo) includes AI features and about 2,000 audio minutes a month. Plus ($49/mo) raises that to about 5,000 minutes a month, with a 2 GB upload limit, 90-day retention, priority support, and API access. Team seats are not available yet.

What happens when I run out of credits?

Guests still have a daily cap (2 transcriptions, 15 minutes) that resets at midnight Pakistan time. Signed-in Free, Pro, and Plus accounts use a monthly credit balance: about 50, 2,000, and 5,000 audio minutes. When the balance is empty, transcription pauses until the next refresh or you upgrade.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Pro and Plus subscriptions accept all major debit and credit cards via Paddle.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from your billing settings. Access continues until the end of your billing period.

Do you store my audio after transcription?

Guest: 24 hours. Free account: 3 days. Pro: 30 days. Plus: 90 days.

Is there an API?

Yes. Plus includes API keys so your own software can upload a file, wait for the transcript, and download TXT, JSON, SRT, or VTT. Minutes come from the same Plus balance, and the file shows up in your library. The guide is at filetranscribe.com/developers.

Is there a maximum file size?

Yes. Upload size limits vary by plan: Guest 100 MB, Free 250 MB, Pro 1 GB, Plus 2 GB. Audio length limits also apply (10 minutes guest, 30 minutes free, 3 hours Pro and Plus).
