Introduction

The File Transcribe API is for Plus accounts. Your app uploads an audio or video file, or sends a public https link, then polls until the transcript is ready. The minutes come off the same Plus balance, and the finished file also appears in the library so you can open the editor.

Send the API key on every request as a bearer token. Create keys in Dashboard settings. The full secret is shown once.

What v1 includes

• Prepare a signed upload, then create a transcription from that upload or from a public file URL.
• List, retrieve, and delete transcriptions.
• Download JSON, TXT, SRT, or VTT when the job is completed.
• Speaker labels, timestamps, and a summary when the language supports it.

v1 does not include webhooks, Ask AI, glossaries, or team membership management. Poll GET /transcriptions/:id until status is completed or failed.
